Description

High Tale Studios is a small independent game studio founded in 2012. We have delivered titles on PC, consoles and mobile. Our passion is to bring back multiplayer gaming to the couch, and we strive to explore the absurd in gameplay and design.

History

Early history

High Tale Studios was founded in 2012 by Amish Patel and Derrick Canfield. Having no official office, they met in pizza shops, living rooms, and make-shift home offices to pursue their game development passions. After mastering the Unity game engine enough to do some damage and a hand full of prototypes, they developed ZomNomNom which was their first title. The game is a mobile only game, but the developers wanted to push thier talent to the big screen in your living room and PCs. They are currently working on Acorn Assault: Rodent Revolution which will be released on PC and Mac March 2nd and on Consoles later this year.

Acorn Assault: Rodent Revolution

Acorn Assault originally started as a prototype for Ouya's Create Game Jam in 2013 which was then expanded upon and brought to the Ouya console. The game was built specifically for couch multiplayer and was small in scope. However, after receiving many comments from fans to know the story of these strange squirrels along with securing deals with larger consoles, High Tale Studios set out to expand on the game. A single player campaign was built expanding the universe and cast of characters telling the strange and odd story of these squirrels and their revolution. High Tale Studios also upgraded the graphics of the title and added online multiplayer to the title. This new entry into the series was branded Acorn Assault: Rodent Revolution and is worlds apart from the original game but maintains what make the first game fun an memorable.

The Future

With the launch of Acorn Assault: Rodent Revolution just around the corner, High Tale Studios is looking forward to bringing the title to more territories and languages. They are also working on bringing the game to other platforms such as the Xbox One in the coming months. Don't expect this to be the last you see of the furry cast of Acorn Assault: Rodent Revolution either as the developers do not plan on leaving the franchise any time soon.
